Masquerade balls have evolved over the years, and they are no longer restricted to carnival season or the nobility. Today, masquerade balls are held throughout the year, and anyone can attend. They are often associated with a particular theme, such as a Venetian or Gothic masquerade ball. The masks are still an essential part of the dress code, and guests are encouraged to wear elaborate costumes to match the theme. They are a chance to escape reality and immerse oneself in a world of glamour and mystery.

On the 6th of May 2022, Nyla celebrated her 16th birthday with a magnificent masquerade ball. The event was held at the Grand Hotel, and it was nothing short of amazing.

The ballroom was decorated with with gold, purple and blue, elegant chandeliers, candles, and feathers. The tables were set with gold plates, and each place setting had a unique masquerade mask as a party favor.

Nyla looked stunning in her white ball gown with gold accents and a matching mask. Her friends and family also dressed to impress, with a variety of colorful masks and formal attire.

The evening began with a grand entrance by Nyla and her father, followed by a dance performance by her and her friends. The ballroom was filled with music, laughter, and the chatter of guests enjoying themselves.

The highlight of the evening was the cake cutting ceremony, where Nyla blew out the candles on her beautiful six-layered cake. It was adorned with edible gold flakes, and the guests couldn't get enough of it.

As the night went on, guests were treated to various performances, including a magician and a live band. They also enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, and the night ended with traditional New Orleans 2nd Line parade.
